About the Role

This role operates across US markets for Gap Inc. with scope of outbound fulfillment from US distribution centers. You'll be tasked with enhancing customers' shopping experience through the shipping experience, and continuously improving delivery performance while driving down costs. This individual will be responsible to ensure parcel operations meets cost per package and cost per unit goals, and regularly interface with parcel finance to project cost movement. This role will serve as an escalation point for critical operational needs between Gap Inc shipping locations and our carrier partners. You must understand the role of our various systems (OMS, WMS, TMS, Jesie, Shipping Operations, etc.), gain maximum data leverage, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for day-to-day US Parcel Operations - inclusive of Distribution Center Store origins (SFS) to ensure delivery of service, cost and capacity requirements


• Deliver On-Time network service -- planning into capacity and equipment requirements


• Drive excellence across network objectives such as equipment utilization, routing compliance, and carrier execution


• Develop strong relationships with internal business partners, specifically DC/Brand operations, Finance, and Inventory Management


• Manage local, regional, and national carriers' network across the US - building strong external supplier relations and ensuring alignment, escalation and awareness


• Oversight and management of parcel operational shipping policies through expertise of shipping processes, sourcing points, and distribution network optimization


• Conduct carrier performance reviews - to ensure operational excellence


• Support the Manager, Parcel Network Engineering to continuously evolve and improve the parcel network through rate shopping, carrier onboarding and data modeling


• Partner with internal stakeholders such as tech and strategic sourcing to support go-live execution of new parcel carriers/services


• Enable long-term strategic road map for US Parcel Operations in partnership with Supply Chain strategy


• Prepare financial performance reports for leadership review


• Plan, initiate, and manage operations project portfolio in partnership with the Manager, Parcel Network Engineering

Who You Are

• 5+ years of progressive transportation operations experience with expertise and exposure to parcel operations, carriers, and nodes


• Will own service and cost performance for US Ecommerce operations (parcel)


• Strong Carrier Relationship Management skills


• Ability to work with cross-functional business partners to ensure customer requirements are translated into operational excellence


• Experience with parcel capacity planning and forecasting and performance management.


• Experience in managing operational P&Ls - with a continuous improvement mentality.


• Operates independently to manage daily US Parcel Operations


• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to respond to critical needs of the business (as dictated by the consumer) - with high effort during peak (Nov - Jan).


• Familiarity of parcel services, carrier operations, and a working knowledge of how systems support daily execution.


• Proficient in MS Office with strong written and verbal communication skills
