Position Overview


This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the university's gift policy framework while ensuring adherence to regulations and ethical standards. Collaborates closely with other departments to assess, monitor and enforce gift-related policies with a focus on scholarship fund management, endowment financial reporting and the gift documentation process. This role is integral to upholding transparency and integrity in all interactions within the university's fundraising, financial, and donor relations activities.



Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, compliance, audit, or other related field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Job Duties:




  • Solicitation and Gift Policy and Procedure Strategy and Oversight

    • Lead the development, revision, and maintenance of advancement policies and guidelines, including those related to gifts, scholarships, and endowments.

    • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure policies align with regulatory requirements.

    • Regularly review and update the policy framework to reflect changing regulations and university needs.

    • Regularly review and update the standard operating procedures to reflect changes in policy and university needs.

    • OFAC checks.






  • Gift Agreements and Compliance

    • Oversee the creation, execution, and management of gift documentation agreements in collaboration with donors, relevant university departments, and the UNT Foundation, Inc.

    • Monitor gift documentation agreement compliance and facilitate necessary updates or modifications.

    • Coordinate with the Gift Acceptance Committee for timely reviews and approval.

    • Coordination with the compliance office.






  • Fund Compliance and Reporting

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee audits of scholarship funds and endowments to ensure compliance with established policies and legal requirements.

    • Collaborate with finance and investment teams to prepare comprehensive endowment reports and annual financial reports.

    • Establish and manage a comprehensive process for documenting and tracking all gifts received and given by the university.

    • Collaborate with donor relations to provide impact reporting on endowments.






  • Advancement Services and Operations Oversight

    • Provide oversight for Advancement Services, budget management, and help desk support.

    • Lead joint activities between Advancement Services, Financial Aid, UNT System offices, and Controller's Office.

    • Provide support to Advancement Services in collaboration with the Executive Director.






  • Donor Relations and Business Relationship Management

    • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees, executives, and stakeholders on gift policy and compliance requirements.

    • Serve as the business relationship manager and liaison to the UNT Foundation, Inc.

    • Foster positive relationships with external partners, vendors, donors, and auditors while upholding compliance standards.

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; some evenings and weekends required
