Job Summary


The Program Director and Assistant Professor of Environmental Health Technology holds a dual role within the academic institution: curriculum development, administrative oversight, student advising, EHT faculty supervision, and community engagement.


Roane State Community College is a multi-campus comprehensive community college serving an eight-county area in East Tennessee. Qualified applicants, including current employees, must apply for and submit a new application and resume for each position opening. Job Duties


* Provide leadership for and program management of A.A.S. Environmental Health Technology program.


* Teach Environmental Health Technology classes.


* Advise Environmental Health Technology students and serve as a contact to 4 year colleges and assist students in identifying options for furthering their education.


* Serve as liaison to Environmental Health Technology professionals in RSCC service area.


* Serve on college committees and attend college functions as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications


* Master's degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Public Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Health Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering required.
* Teaching experience in higher education.
* Experience advising students.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Knowledge of EHT professional standards.

  • Management/Administration experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiological hazards.
