Senior Property Accountant



Commercial / Residential Property Management



Responsibilities

• Perform monthly/quarterly/annual close procedures, including account reconciliations, AR, AP and cash management review, closing journal entries, bank reconciliations and produce property financial statements and supplemental financial packages


• Review monthly property financial statements and liaise with property manager and internal operations team to resolve accounting matters


• Prepare period-over-period variance analyses and budget-to-actual comparisons


• Assist with year-end audit in providing audit samples/support and addressing audit inquiries


• Oversee Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable


• Prepare monthly & quarterly investor reporting


• Research technical accounting guidance as needed


• Ad-hoc reporting, projects and corporate initiatives


• Month End close, Property accounting for all local properties

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Accounting / Finance Degree preferred.


• 5 years or more relevant work experience needed, including full cycle close.


• Excellent analytical skills required


• Detail oriented with strong organization skills


• Strong in both written and verbal communication


• Ability to work independently and in a team environment


• Proficiency with Yardi. MRI or Timberline / Sage preferred (or similar real estate specific property accounting software)


• Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office products


• Real estate accounting experience a strong plus (preferably Residential/Commercial real estate)


• Ability to read and understand residential leases and other legal contracts
