SUMMARY



Arcticom, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Subject Matter Expert for the NBG Support Center in Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Assist the National Guard organizations in performing reliability, maintainability, and availability analyses.
  • Depending on the complexity level of the equipment, a SME may perform the analysis themselves or receive support from an equipment specialist.
  • Conduct standard and non-standard tasks on equipment.
  • Prepare calibration and equipment status reports.
  • Coordinate the training schedule for Site Director's approval.
  • Provide component list and part numbers for fielding of initial equipment to the supported teams.
  • Assess purchased equipment to ensure that mission requirements are met.
  • Support modification to government vehicles, Immediate Response Technology/TVI decontamination corridors (tents), flash heaters, decontamination trailers, Lightweight Inflatable Decontamination System (LIDS), New Equipment Training (NET), and Emergency Tracking Assistant System (ETAS).
  • Provide prompt and effective repairs to team equipment.
  • Must be willing to travel from state to state throughout the U.S. multiple times a year.


Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)


  • Associates Degree and or Technical Certificate or 2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be extremely organized and possess a great attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to travel.




Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics


  • Basic understanding of military terminology.
  • Have experience in public speaking to both civilian and military personnel.
  • The ability to service and perform minor repairs on mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of common mechanical hand tools.
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with CBRN methods and procedures.
  • The ability to obtain a working understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of the mission and operations of the various National Guard organizations supported by the CoMSUPCEN.
  • SMEs assigned to the CoMSUPCEN should be experienced with the systems they have been designated to service, maintain, and repair.


Preferred


  • Mechanical background with safety emphasis.
  • Military CBRN experience.
  • Prior Military experience.
  • Army Instructor Training Course or equivalent.

  • Working conditions are mostly in an indoor warehouse facility. Some job duties may require work to be performed outside of the warehouse.


DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS


  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. Some lifting is required, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and operate equipment such as a forklift. Work temperatures may fluctuate depending on weather conditions. Some work will be performed outside.




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • No supervisory responsibilities.




ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
