Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and working with local production teams; the Senior Electrical Technician researches, plans, designs, develops, troubleshoots, and conducts tests on electronic cables/harnesses, production software, programmable logic controls (PLC), and mechanical assemblies and/or systems. Other responsibilities include the design of test control apparatus and equipment, evaluation of operational systems, and recommendation of design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements. Direct and coordinate activities which include design, manufacture, and test electronic, and failure analysis as required.
Assist and train local maintenance teams at plants throughout Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi
Troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
Supervise, review, and assist as needed for manufacturing equipment electrical upgrades, and layout changes
Work with local teams as needed on Capex projects
Review project proposals, review timelines, and Identify equipment and connections points for electricians
Troubleshoot and help with commissioning of new equipment
Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (2-5 days a week)
Experience working with equipment in an industrial manufacturing setting (mechanical & electrical)
Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
Teach and coach the three hazards of electricity - shock, arc, and blast
Understand safety signs and guarding of energized parts
Expert knowledge of the following; 480-volt systems, electric motors, light curtains, photo eyes, proximity switches, motor starters, relay contactors
Troubleshooting PLCs; Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred
Must be a safety champion
Preferred
Master Electrician's License or 7+ years of similar work experience
Certifications (if applicable)
5+ years direct experience in the manufacturing industry strongly preferred
Associate degree or technical college degree/certificate preferred
Prior experience as a Trainer/Instructor
Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP)
