Your impact:

 

Delish is searching for an enterprising and hyper organized Test Kitchen Manager to manage Delish’s new test kitchen and studio space. Reporting to the Senior Food Editor, the candidate will lead the operational responsibilities of our kitchen studios in partnership with our Director of Content Operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, is a skilled cook, and is genuinely excited by Delish’s content. Please note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter and salary requirement.

 

What you’ll do:


  • Manage the studio in terms of organization and cleanliness to ensure efficiency

  • In collaboration with the Senior Food Editor, manage recipe cross testing and test recipes as assigned

  • Managing tasks for freelance test kitchen assistant

  • Prepping recipes in advance for photo and video shoots 

  • Manage grocery ordering

  • Manage inventory of, small appliances, kitchen tools, textiles and other supplies 

  • Ensure that each studio’s par is fulfilled 

  • Onboard and potentially schedule  freelance kitchen assistants

  • Manage sending and receiving of laundry

  • Report broken appliances, building issues to Director of Content Operations  and Property Management

  • Developing recipes as assigned

Who you are:


  • A knowledgeable cook with at least 5 years experience working in a professional kitchen, either in restaurants or in a media test kitchen

  • Comprehensive understanding of how a professional kitchen should operate. Willing to both take direction and offer suggestions

  • Incredible organization, attention to detail and proactivity in terms of prioritizing assignments, anticipating food editor needs, and more

  • Organizational awareness: understands efficiency and detail in the context of a test kitchen environment.

  • An eye for making food “camera ready.”

  • A lover of fast-paced, collaborative environments. 

The base salary for this role is between $74,000-89,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
