Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate/Empirical Study of Conflict (ESOC) Project

Description: The Empirical Study of Conflict (ESOC) Project at the School of Public and International Affairs seeks a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to provide support to the university's Climate Change, Resource Reallocation, and Great Power Competition project. This is a one-year position with possible extension. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants should submit a cover letter and C.V. online. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Principal Investigators, the Associate will contribute to empirical modeling of the economic and security effects of climate change. In particular, the Associate will help gather data and develop and run macroeconomic models that incorporate a variety of economic and climatic "shocks." Qualifications: This position is ideal for recent Doctoral degree graduates in Economics or Political Science seeking an applied research position. Essential Requirements include: *Doctoral degree in economics or political science. *Academic experience in economic theory, game theory, and statistical analysis *Proficiency with relevant software, e.g. Python, R, and STATA. *Excellent writing and analytical skills *Evidence of ability to take the initiative in solving practical research problems *Ability to work independently and to adjust to rapidly changing needs of researchers Preferred Qualifications: *Experience with macroeconomic or structural modeling.
