F&G is hiring for a Chief Actuary role for Cayman Re Ltd. This role provides support to F&G's offshore team in developing reserves and analysis used in reporting financial results. This role will also be responsible for reporting processes and assist with new product lines valuation build out. This role will also be responsible for the development, pricing, projections, and overall strategy of the F&G's Cayman entity.
Organization
This position reports to Chief Executive Officer (F&G Cayman Re) and currently has no direct reports. Role is physically located in Cayman Islands on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Will provide leadership in developing reserves and related analysis used in reporting financial results including:
Statutory and other Cayman regulatory filings
GAAP
Tax
Capital
Management reporting
ROE forecasting and analysis
Responsible for incorporating new annuity and life products into F&G's larger actuarial GAAP and statutory financial reporting processes and assist with Cayman regulatory valuation build-out and reporting.
Responsible for the development and pricing of Cayman reinsurance from the concept phase through implementation
Serving as the Offshore/Institutional expert on the relevant Corporate AXIS models by providing technical model support and relevant training to other stakeholders on the Offshore/Institutional teams
Collaborating with various teams to understand, develop and support implementation of enhancements to Corporate AXIS models used for valuation, pricing, inforce management, ALM, and planning purposes
Axis model pricing support for reinsurance deals (input creation, output validation and integration)
Offshore capital management strategy, reporting, & support - including US-RBC, Cayman regulatory reporting, and Internal Capital projections
Offshore valuation support (ongoing model maintenance, change management, assumption review, reviewing valuation process). Could potentially include valuation responsibilities including F&G Cayman Re Approved Actuary responsibilities.
Downstream model integration, efficiency improvements, User Acceptance Testing, local documentation, controls and governance
Support for Corporate documentation, controls and governance, (testing validation and sign offs)
Assist with the overall F&G Cayman Re and F&G offshore capital strategy
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
ASA and MAAA or equivalent certifications required, FSA preferred
15+ years of related actuarial experience with progressively more responsibility
5+ years of Experience, including:
Modeling and modeling process under a variety of applications (e.g. valuation, pricing, ALM, Stat/GAAP, capital forecasting)
Insurance/investment actuarial experience
Offshore reinsurance experience required
Experience with and knowledge of GGY AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software preferred
Skills and Abilities Required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong analytical/quantitative skills
Knowledge and experience with reinsurance including statutory risk transfer, insurance, pension risk transfer products, investments, and basic US-Stat & GAAP accounting
Ability to operate diligently in a remote/partially remote work environment
Ability to work individually and with a team, in an extremely agile and fast paced work climate
