Overview
i3 is seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real-world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team. The candidate for the Junior-Level Linux Administrator position will be responsible for creating and deploying Linux machines and VMs and providing end-user support and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- System administration on multiple Linux servers and workstations to support the Linux infrastructure for updates, configuration management, and authentication.
- Installation and configuration of Linux operating systems on servers, workstations, laptops.
- Automated Linux builds, configuration, managing and deploying VMs, and STIG checklist creations and management using Ansible.
- Daily assistance to Linux users with a wide range of problems (software installation/configuration, code compilation, access to Windows and Linux network resources, printers, etc.).
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Develop and promotes standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
- Ensure the day-to-day operation and ongoing support of Servers and Systems including even, fault, and performance management.
- Design, develop, and maintain process automation scripts and utilities written in BASH/Python and other programing languages as required.
Qualifications
- Linux OS Certification is a plus.
- Must have DoD 8140 IA Certification (Security+ CE).
- Current Secret clearance or the ability to attain one.
- High School Diploma and a minimum of 1yr IT related experience.
