PrairieFire Coffee is growing again! We are looking for a customer focused, self-motivated Route Sales Representative with lots of energy, enthusiasm and a proven track record of success to service our customers in the Columbia and Rolla, MO area.

As a Route Sales Representative, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of PrairieFire products to customers on a predetermined route. This role will be customer facing and requires effective route planning, excellent driving skills and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Our Route Sales Representatives must be able to consult with customers to determine the products and/or amount of products necessary to meet the customer's needs.

What you’ll do:


Route planning and execution:



  • Prepare the delivery vehicle each day before leaving the warehouse to ensure it is loaded correctly; familiarize yourself with the route layout and customers’ requests to complete the scheduled route.

  • Complete all deliveries on route as scheduled.

  • Ensure route optimization by identifying challenges or roadblocks ahead of time to complete the route in the most efficient manner.


Customer service:



  • Interact with customers while representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Address customer questions or concerns during deliveries.

  • Respond with a sense of urgency and professionalism to customer requests and concerns outside of regular delivery schedule.


Product knowledge:



  • Develop a strong understanding of the products being delivered and the proper product handling.

  • Provide information about products to customers when necessary.


Documentation:



  • Complete customer agreements and route sheets accurately and legibly.

  • Perform payment collection from customers; promptly turn in customer payments and daily activity sheets to the office staff at the end of each workday.

  • Adhere to the proper utilization of handheld palm units, while entering accurate information concerning the customer and abiding by all rules concerning its use.


Sales:



  • Achieve sales goals approved by the Area Sales Manager or GM.

  • Ability to sell and upsell the latest products and accessories.


Safety:



  • Operate delivery vehicles safely; adhere to traffic rules and regulations.

  • Perform Daily Vehicle Inspections and report any issues to management.


Where you’ll work:


PrairieFire Route Sales Reps spend much of their time out in the field delivering to both commercial and residential customers – this means you’ll spend extensive time driving and getting in and out of the route truck. Our drivers deliver in rain or shine and must be comfortable being exposed to various weather conditions. This role is labor intensive and requires strong physical stamina and the ability to stand, kneel, bend, reach overhead, and get into tight spaces as required.

Technically speaking, the ideal candidate for this role will be highly customer oriented, comfortable managing their time and solving problems, and will remain adaptable and flexible throughout their shift to accommodate customer and business needs. Commitment to safe driving and ability to work with technology, such as a smartphone and GPS navigation, will be crucial to success in this role. 


Your qualifications:



  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a Drug Screen.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check per Company requirements.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older and be able to successfully pass, and maintain, a driving record check to be insurable by the Company in order to operate a company vehicle.

  • Must be able to safely operate/drive company vehicles, daily for approximately 8-10 hours.

  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs on a repetitive basis.

  • Must remain physically capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, of performing the duties required of this position.
