You will analyze a, record, review, and report on financial transactions. Ensure accurate financial reporting by reviewing transactions with eye to internal controls. Assist in audit requests and prepare ad-hoc reporting as required.
This position is expected to be hybrid.
NYC Salary Range - $75,840 - $90,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

Support specific accounting processes from end to end for concepts like Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, etc.
Assist with preparing monthly reporting packages
Assist with daily investment accounting data flows. trade recording, and cash payment reconciliation
Help analyze and improve internal processes
Prepare journal entries as required, and ensure documentation of accounting records
Update the credit union's Accounting Procedures Manual as required/requested
Assist NCUA examiners, CPA auditors and internal auditors during periodic examinations and audits.
Be knowledgeable in reconciliation concepts and perform periodic reconciliation as assigned
Be an integral part of the internal controls of the organization through identification and evaluation of transactions
What we're seeking
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3-5 years accounting experience in banking or financial services
Experienced in fixed assets, loan accounting, preparing and proofreading financial and analytical reports
Knowledgeable in common accounting concepts such as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, consolidations, amortization and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficient in Microsoft Office including exceptional Excel skills
Ability to improve workflows and data validation
Knowledge of internal control best practices and reconciliation
Ability to think critically and identify, research, and solve problems independently
Strong in analysis skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
