Job Description:

Job Summary: Responsible for overall Texas Operations warehouse operations for A Shift. Oversee, supervise and coordinate the daily warehousing activities (receiving, inventory control, shipping and logistics) for the Sherman Fab. Implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards to support On Time Shipment (OTS), inventory accuracy and materials for the Fab's 24/7 operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Supervise team of material handlers engaged in all aspects of the daily warehousing activities (receiving, inventory control, shipping and logistics) for the Sherman Fab.
  • Responsibilities include any of the following activities related to the receiving, storing, and/or shipping of materials or finished goods: ensure materials are received from proper vendors, that they are delivered to inventory, and that finished goods are completed and packaged according to specification and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Reviews receipt of all materials to ensure purchase orders are open and the quality of materials received is correct.
  • Ensures the security, accuracy and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control.
  • Ensures materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per planning schedules. Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures.
  • Maintains documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance.
  • Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems.
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.

Education & Experience

  • 7 to 10 years experience in a warehousing, manufacturing or materials planning environment.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Skills

  • Proven experience within high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Administrative and technical leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written communication and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with Oracle or equivalent suite of enterprise tools (ERP, MRP, OTM, APS)

Working Conditions

  • Work in a climate-controlled warehouse storage, dock and production environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing up to 8 hours per day.
  • Lifting and carrying 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Sitting up to 8 hours per day.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
