Job Description:

We're a leading manufacturing company dedicated to excellence in producing high-quality products. Clarios produces 1/3 of the worlds lead acid batteries in the automotive field, with our Holland, Michigan location specializing in low voltage lithium-ion battery cells. Our commitment to innovation and efficiency drives us to seek a Manufacturing Engineer with a specialization in automation.

Role Overview:

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Clarios, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our equipment and processes meet the highest standards of safety, quality, throughput, and reliability. You'll lead initiatives for continuous improvement in these areas, utilizing your technical expertise to drive efficiency, minimize scrap and increase throughput.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, install, and implement automation solutions for plant machinery and equipment.




• Oversee equipment modifications and enhancements, ensuring seamless integration into existing processes.




• Prepare comprehensive business case documents to support proposed automation projects.




• Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operational, adhering to manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.




• Develop and implement manufacturing process techniques to enhance safety, ergonomics, quality, and productivity.




• Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as A3, KT, DMAIC (Six Sigma), etc., to address challenges and drive improvements.




• Collaborate with plant operations personnel to review project progress and identify future opportunities for optimization.




• Prepare and present product and process reports, analyzing trends and identifying areas for enhancement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.




• 2-3 years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment.




• Proficiency in PLC programming and ladder logic preferred.




• Experience in robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics a plus.




• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Excel, Minitab, and other related programs.




• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to draw valid conclusions.
