Your Role: Quality Control Manager – Immunochemistry  

This position has management responsibility for the Immunochemistry Team within the Quality Control (QC) department. You will be responsible for ensuring the operations, scientific robustness, accuracy, and compliance of all tests and procedures to corporate, OSHA, EPA, USDA, cGMPs, and customer requirements as applicable. You will support Research and Development (R&D) initiatives, product transfers, assay optimizations, and other regulatory commitments, as well as oversee the administration of key Quality Systems such as CAPAs, deviations/laboratory investigations, change controls, controlled documents, testing records, etc., within responsible groups.

Your Responsibilities:  


  • Manages day-to-day operations of the Immunochemistry group, prioritize work, resolve issues, develop and institute quality and efficiency improvements through the appropriate channels, and oversee the Immunochemistry group’s relationships with other QC departments and outside stakeholders to maintain professional relationships while delivering results. 


  • Manages performance of individuals within the Immunochemistry group, conducts regular performance reviews, delegates tasks appropriately and provides adequate development opportunities.


  • Interprets requirements for compliance, revises procedures and policies accordingly, initiates review and revision of testing procedures and specifications, ensures policies, SOPs, and safety procedures are instituted appropriately.


  • Updates from regulatory agencies are promptly responded to with new or revised procedures and policies and testing procedures and specifications are maintained to current company, industry, and regulatory standards.


  • Provides technical expertise and support for issues or projects involving applicable assays, including but not limited to ELISA potency assays. Identifies gaps or areas for improvement with methods or protocols, develops potential solutions, and implements when necessary.


What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline required.


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a regulated industry and minimum 3 years previous leadership experience (can be thought/project leadership).


  • Knowledge of basic scientific principles and techniques, especially those pertaining to ELISA assays.


  • Ability to appropriately assess any regulatory or compliance changes to develop action plans and implement changes to ensure continued compliance.
