Contract Specialist - Tactical Solutions (TS)


As a Contract Specialist within the Tactical Solutions (TS) contracts department, you will play a vital role in contract negotiation and administration across various programs. Reporting to a Senior Manager, you'll be an individual contributor, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies. Here are the key responsibilities:


Responsibilities:

Contract Lifecycle Management:

• Handle contract negotiation and administration throughout the entire contract life cycle, from pre-proposal to contract closeout.


• Collaborate cross-functionally with other employees, program personnel, and key customers.

Risk Assessment and Compliance:

• Review contracts and related documents to assess risk to the company.


• Recommend mitigation approaches to address identified risks.


• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS).

Effective Communication:

• Maintain positive working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.


• Interact appropriately with colleagues to foster a productive work environment.

On-Site Work Engagement:

• Regularly engage in on-site work, spending at least three days per week at the primary work location.


• Be prepared for travel and local commutes between company campuses and other non-company locations.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related field.


• 10 or more years of related experience.


• Familiarity with government and commercial contracts (domestic and international desirable).


• Strong knowledge of FAR and DFARS, particularly in areas related to intellectual property, government property, proposal formation, and negotiations.


• Experience with cost reimbursable, award fee, and incentive fee contracts.


• Proficiency in handling Firm Fixed Price contracts.


• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).


• Ability to manage complex issues simultaneously.


• Experience in negotiation strategies and conflict resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a business-related field.


• Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).


• Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) and major Aerospace primes.
