This Sales & Use Tax Manager includes responsibility for the sales/use tax function of Ardagh Glass Packaging - North America's (AGP-NA) and Ardagh Metal Packaging USA Corp. This is a Shared Services function.



Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns, accruals, and payments
• Organize check requests, monitor payments and accruals for sales and use tax, and explain budget variances
• Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
• Manage exception status, exemption applications, refunds, and returns.
• Manage all state reverse sales and use tax audits and jurisdiction audits.
• Research and conclude on sales/use tax positions and tax savings opportunities.
• Provide sales/use tax guidance and update tax guidelines to all stakeholders.
• Communicate and work effectively with state officials, auditors, consultants, and internal financial and tax management
• Prepare monthly Canadian GST/HST/PST returns.
• Maintain the tax determination software (Thompson Reuters OneSource Indirect Tax Determination)

Minimum skills / qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
• Five (5) years of accounting and corporate sales/use tax experience
• Three (3) years of experience in the manufacturing industry
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and interact effectively with management and outside customers
• Must have exceptional problem solving analytical and technical skills with good team dynamics
• Must possess strong planning and organizational skills
• Willingness to undertake Canadian HST/GST/PST tax compliance required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred skills / qualifications:

• Previous experience in Canadian HST/GST
• Previous experience in SAP and creating reports
• Previous experience with Thomson Reuters Use Tax Software
