Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Hoboken, NJ that is seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in higher education finance and strong bank reconciliation skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have a solid understanding of financial systems, with knowledge of Workday being highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions


• Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure proper recording of financial transactions


• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets for accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements


• Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and provide support for budget planning and forecasting


• Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and audits


• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to streamline accounting procedures


• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to higher education finance

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• CPA certification preferred


• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in a higher education setting


• Strong bank reconciliation skills with a keen eye for detail


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas


• Experience with financial systems, preferably Workday


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities


• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
