Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Jessup, MD that is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Staff Accountant to join their finance team.

Summary:
As a Senior/Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with various departments to streamline accounting processes and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Senior/Staff Accountant will manage the full cycle of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations


• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP principles


• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making


• Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities


• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements


• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks


• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget variances to management


• As a Senior/Staff Accountant, you will collaborate cross-functionally with departments to streamline processes and enhance efficiency


• Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management


• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA or progress towards CPA preferred


• 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a distribution or similar industry


• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements


• Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle NetSuite and advanced Excel skills


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail


• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders


• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• High level of integrity and professionalism with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
