Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager

Location: Ashburn, VA with flexibility for Telework

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Summary

The Associate Project Manager assists the Program Manager in handling a variety of projects that involve IT solutions, Professional Services, and Design Build, with a focus on customer, employee, and key stakeholder interaction. The APM provides guidance and oversight for projects as assigned by the Program Manager. The APM ensures that projects meet the requirements outlined in contracts, and they are responsible for being a point of contact for key stakeholders as designated by the Program Manager.

Additionally, the APM fosters a collaborative environment among team members working on their assigned projects and sets goals for team members. They assist in managing multiple projects from defining customer requirements to hiring and project completion as assigned by the Program Manager. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support key stakeholders.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in identifying resources required for the project and oversees employee selection while working with RavenTek recruiting team.
  • Responsible for working with the recruiting team to ensure open positions are filled in a timely manner.
  • Provides leadership to program staff acting as a POC for the federal government stakeholders/clients at various levels.
  • Manages and tracks risks, tasks, deliverables, and contractual obligations.
  • Reviews and manages project budgets and performance against contractual and schedule requirements.
  • Supervises program staff and may perform personnel actions including new hire orientation and performance feedback.
  • Meets regularly with program staff as well as customer leadership representatives for programmatic and project reviews.
  • Responsible for customer and stakeholder engagement to ensure performance standards are meeting customer expectations.
  • Provides clear communication of the vision, goals, priorities, and project action items to all stakeholders and employees in assigned project areas.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
  • Reviews and understands government PWS and staffing requirements and communicates those requirements effectively across multiple team members and prime/subcontracting partners.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Monitor team member time submission requirements for compliance.
  • Submit MSRs (weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of the internet, email applications, and database applications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and extensive confidential information.
  • Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in writing, in plain language with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders, in addition to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Action-oriented, able to anticipate challenges and be able to demonstrate the ability to suggest solutions that are sustainable.
  • Understanding of managing sub/prime relationships with staffing contracts preferred.

Education & Work Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of government contracting experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years in project coordination or as a business analyst.
  • Previous experience managing small teams in professional services/SETA projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in management or related field preferred.
  • Experience with HR related issues with staff and when to escalate to key stakeholders.
  • Experience with QMS, risk management and mitigation.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in PWS and SOW interpretation and requirement gathering.

Work Environment

Essential functions will be completed in a typical indoor office environment with regular exposure to video monitors. When working on-site, employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis
