Salary Range: $19.00 - $20.00 Hourly

Description The Multimedia Assistant performs a wide range of multimedia support functions, such as photo/video production, capture/editing, as well as support of instructional lecture capture and live event streaming. The Multimedia Production Assistant will assist in development and/or prepares presentation materials and perform a range of administrative support and clerical functions, as appropriate to the needs of the work unit. This position reports to the Senior Director of Multimedia Services within the Office of Marketing and Communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSI­­BILITIES

  • Assists with the capture of photos / videos as assigned. Edits videos and photos, as assigned.

  • Provides audio visual support for campus facilities.

  • Provides multimedia support at events and meetings.

  • Prepares presentation materials, using graphic applications as appropriate to the requirements of the position.

  • Manipulates electronic files using various software programs.

  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Multimedia Coordinator, may provide administrative support; answers and places telephone calls, schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and compiles and correlates various reports.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the fundamentals of video and photography.

  • Ability to edit video adhering to university workflows.

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

  • Ability to use Mac and Window workstation systems.

  • Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.

  • Ability to use graphic software for page layout. Ability to work with existing templates adhering to the university brand guidelines.

  • Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, and equipment.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate the audio-visual needs of meetings and special events.

  • Ability to use the following software and systems: FCX, Lightroom, InDesign, Photoshop, Office 365, Photo Mechanic, Wirecast, Libris

  • Video and Photography design concepts, processes and procedures, including illustration of various media, from design, reproduction, layout and camera process.

  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.

  • Produce neat, accurate and quality line work.

  • Manage projects while meeting deadlines and staying within budgets as assigned.

  • Willingness to take creative direction from management and work collaboratively with others.

  • Exhibit a high level of customer services by effectively dealing with internal and external clients, vendors, contractors and other contacts.

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills including presentation abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with an inclusive and diverse external and internal team of colleagues, students, patients, donors and constituents.

  • Proven record of success in collaborative team environments, including morale building, effective handling of team dynamics in high pressure situations, creating a supporting team and working to a high standard.

  • Within the scope of responsibilities, demonstrate ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality and work independently.

  • Possess a high level of problem solving and sound judgment skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior working experience with non-profit, health care or in-house creative team.

  • Experience with print layout and printing materials.

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom and Final Cut Pro

  • Experience incorporating multimedia, including video, audio, digital media and photography, into communication vehicles.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school degree or general education degree (GED) required; AND

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.

    Be able to stand, drive and sit for prolonged periods of time.Walk on uneven surfaces and grades.Physical effort required Setup of cameras, speakers, large displays, cabling. Reaching, lifting, climbing, pulling, squatting, walking. Ability to lift, up to 35 lbs.Work is performed in a classroom/office work environment but does involve assignments providing support for outdoor events during daylight and evening hours.This is an in-person/on-site position.Hours are a traditional M-F office schedule but do include occasional evening and weekend assignments. Hybrid work options on occasion with prior supervisor approval.
