Role Description




POSITION SUMMARY



  • The Master Data Steward is responsible for the creation and maintenance of site Master Data and for analysis to support the Supply Chain Team. This position will work closely with both Business Process Key Users and everyday users of these systems to execute data creation and maintenance processes to meet the expected service and quality levels. Ensuring accuracy for material set up and maintenance is a key output of this role and one that involves having cross functional teams and communication through the site and markets.




POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES




Master Data creation and maintenance



  • Work within all Supply Chain systems, trouble shoot and identify system issues when they arise and implement corrective actions and updates where needed (SAP based systems, ECC, APO, SNP, MDG).

  • Seek a high degree of accuracy and efficiency with master data requests, process requests in accordance with current master data standards and processes.

  • Share suggestions for process improvement and effective enhancements in support of an enhanced customer experience.

  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and Routers for BOMs as assigned; track changes in BOMs and routers and ensure updated information is provided to Finance and Planning & Scheduling to assist in the budget process.

  • Responsible for the item add process and working with manufacturing and markets for accuracy when new items are being added through MDG and the item add process, including the coordination and approval of new and revised artwork for all packaging components.




Project / Launch support



  • Support ad hoc efforts to mass create or change master data in support of new product launches, business process changes, or other project work.

  • Process mass changes utilizing master data procedures.

  • Help to identify data cleansing opportunities and take initiative to correct data quality problems.




Data Quality



  • Run requested data quality and data analysis requests or reports in support of customers, both internal and external.

  • Participate in testing and development of new tools and reports in support of data quality.

  • Identify and escalate any trends and patterns with data requests or integrity.

  • Other duties as assigned.




TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS



  • Demonstrated strengths in the following capabilities: problem solving, supply chain, decision-making, critical-thinking and technical skills pertaining to data management.

  • Good working knowledge of SAP.

  • Demonstrated record of focus on performance, continuous improvement, and development/implementation of best practices.

  • Track record of understanding and meeting customer and market needs.

  • Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office software package - Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and tools.

  • Demonstrated record of achievement of objectives and proven demonstration and commitment to the Zoetis Core Beliefs.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain Management or Logistics with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Master Data or a business environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working within SAP strongly preferred (ECC, SNP & MDG).

  • Ability to collect, organize, process, and disseminate significant numbers of requests and transactions in an enterprise level master data system.

  • Customer focused with an emphasis on clear communication.

  • Candidate must possess flexibility to respond to constantly changing conditions and priorities.

  • Day to day use and familiarity with databases and database processes preferred.

  • Demonstrated commitment to business collaborative skills aligned to achieving project objectives in a manner that is supportive of the Zoetis Core Beliefs.

  • Ability to work independently, work in an unstructured environment, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable, resourceful with a relentless focus on outcomes.
