Job Description

We are seeking a talented Lead Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team within ElbitAmerica SlingWorks organization. The ideal candidate will be a domain expert and have a passion for developing efficient and reliable software for embedded systems. You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded systems. The candidate needs to have strong technical expertise to deliver independently, as well as great leadership skills to drive multiple projects with internal teams and external partners. As a senior member of the team, you can have a huge impact on everything from our technology roadmap, to the functionality we deliver for our customers, to the design and architecture of our systems, to the algorithms we employ, and to the culture we build.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software architecture and software technical baseline.
  • Develop and derive software requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality software design, documentation, testing, and implementation that meet defined requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple engineering disciplines including Systems, Electrical, and Firmware.
  • Be an active participant in bids and proposals for new business
  • Lead the development of the software product and technology roadmaps
  • Active contributor to streamlining department processes and adopting industry best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support product deployment and troubleshooting efforts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.


Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 18+ years of experience in embedded systems (MS + 15 years, PhD + 12 years)
  • Demonstrated experience with C/C++ development in embedded environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with microprocessor (single and/or multi-core) and microcontroller-based designs
  • Knowledge and experience of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Knowledge/experience with TCP/IP, and UDP protocols
  • Experience with standard software practices such as requirements management (e.g. DOORs), source control management, IDEs, unit testing, and code reviews
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to work alone or in a team setting
  • Ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance
  • Fully skilled in MS programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Travel up to 15%

Highly Desired:

    • Active DOD SECRET clearance
    • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools
    • Exposure to MOSA and FACE compliant development
