DCI Donor Services

DCI Donor Services (DCIDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at DCIDS is to save lives through organ donation and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We are currently seeking a Director of Information Technology to direct the design of IT systems to maximize organizational efficiency and lead to more lives saved through donation. This position will be in Nashville, Tennessee and will provide strategic direction to all employees throughout the country. Travel to other locations will be required.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Tennessee Donor Services Eye Bank.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  1. Develops and leads the information technology strategies that support organizational goals and objectives. Ensures integrity and quality of data within the IT infrastructure to support operations, management and decision making. Actively participates in cross departmental initiatives ensuring data is efficiently organized, managed, and distributed.
  2. Establishes and maintains an IT Strategic Plan and monitors progress and completion of its goals.
    1. Supports the company’s strategic plan and goals.
    2. Incorporates underlying and obvious technology needs.
    3. Supports business advantage by well managed IT.
    4. Manages all facets of IT to fall within the Strategic Plan.
    5. Develops and maintains “Best Practices” for organization.Works with key stakeholders across the organization to identify business requirements for IT systems.
  3. Provides leadership and direction to assigned staff-including staff performance review, professional development, and monitoring staff activities. Acts as a coach, mentor, and consultant to assigned staff members. Responsible for IT staffing, performance, satisfaction, and team building through the employee development program.
  4. Supports the team in utilizing project management methodologies when developing and deploying IT initiatives. Recommends and updates information systems policies, procedures, diagrams, and documentation. Monitors the success of technology solutions and adjusts technology plans and projects as needed. Actively manages IT projects with supporting documentation.
  5. Responsible for operation of cloud computing environments, telecommunication systems, network systems, servers, desktop computers, laptops, applications, and all other related systems and equipment.
  6. Safeguards the organization through managing the security of the organization’s systems including, but not exclusive of management of firewalls, virus software, systems patches, password maintenance and documentation, and security audits.
  7. Ensures integration and utilization of external systems and agencies in the OPO and Tissue industry per company strategic and business direction (such as government/regulatory, hospitals, organizations, and agencies.)
  8. Maintains system maintenance contracts, software licensing, and other related contracts and required licenses. Creates and maintains key vendor and/or consultant relationships that provide current and potential benefit to the organization. Negotiates and engages with vendors and leverage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve quality and cost effectiveness of vendor services, while monitoring vendor performance and metrics.
  9. Ensures company equipment, systems and services are compliant with business continuity plans and procedures. This includes designing and implementing disaster recovery processes and business continuity procedures for re-establishing servers, databases, and operating systems in the event of disruptions, both minor and catastrophic.
  10. Drives education efforts to support company’s respect for and use of technology. Provides individual and group instruction and/or training as needed.
  11. Other related job duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous OPO and/or healthcare experience
  • 5+ years in a senior IT leadership role
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • 5+ years project management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels
