Job Description:

  • Develops strategies for university-wide professional recruitment at the Executive level and above, interfacing with various stakeholders to create a focused plan for each recruitment project.

  • Develops and establishes relationships with key search firms in support of the University-wide professional recruitment process.

  • Develops strategic relationships with key partners to ensure a diverse talent pipeline in support of the University's DEI strategy.

  • Implements a proactive plan for each recruitment project, including tailored research and outreach, reference checking and verification of academic credentials. Writes and places ads in various media.

  • Communicates with all stakeholders regularly on recruitment progress, issues, etc.

  • Coordinates candidate interviews and negotiation of final offers. Initiates contacts with candidates for specific job openings. Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify qualified candidates.

  • Establishes strong working relationships with prospective and current candidates.

  • Serves as an advisor to Search Committees or others charged with hiring decisions.

  • Oversees budget for professional recruitment, ensuring that services are provided in a cost-efficient fashion.

  • Functions as a strategic resource to the President's Cabinet on professional recruitment, as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Human Resources.

Requisite Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required with a preference for a master's degree. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

  • Seven years of executing executive/professional recruitment, interfacing with Search Committees and other executive stakeholders. Experience with higher education clients and/or experience working in an institution of higher education is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience working in a shared governance culture.

  • Track record of a self-starter.

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and exercise judgment and professionalism.

  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities and balance goal orientation with process.

  • Ability to develop strategy and tactics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Planning and organizational skills to concurrently lead multiple projects.

  • Business skills to provide services in a cost-effective manner.

  • Strong knowledge of candidate selection methods, sourcing tools and strategies

Reasonable Expected Salary - $136,000 - $170,000. Salary offer commensurate with education and experience.
