Job Title: Quality Inspector

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager / Manufacturing Engineering Manager

General Overview:

We are currently searching for a highly analytical Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing department. As the Quality Inspector, you will uphold the safety regulations of our company and supervise the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations. This candidate will perform product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the process. To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate great attention to detail with technical and math abilities.

This position will be based out of North Aurora, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to accomplish visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Be able to determine acceptance, rejection of materials presented for inspection.
  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements for products and services.
  • Measure product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
  • Document inspections outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist Quality team members or management with failures and nonconforming materials date recording and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Certification in quality control is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good math and technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
  • Ability to write and/or complete general work reports.
  • Demonstrates excellent blueprint reading skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the use and application of cosmetic, workmanship, packaging standards as would be used in the metal fabrication industry.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to use precision hand measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures protractors.

This position will have a base working schedule of Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm. Overtime, extended daily hours and Saturday's may be required depending on customer demand. The person working in this position will work out on the production floor daily in a warehouse environment. Always maintain company safety standards regarding required personnel protective equipment usage.
