Position Summary:
Provide direction for the program and staff, and implement age and developmentally appropriate curriculum in the program. Provide a quality, safe, positive and inclusive experience to children and parents that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise a group of children to ensure their health, safety and to provide a positive experience for each childDesign and implement age appropriate program activitiesProvides guidance, leadership and direction to staff as neededProfessionally engages with parents/guardians to provide pertinent information about their childs experience and to promote upcoming programsEnsures that toys and equipment are clean and safe, set up and stored properly, reports equipment problems to supervisorMaintain required program recordsPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum age 18Experience working with children/familiesPlan, organize, and implement age/developmentally appropriate program activitiesFluency in second language desired

Physical Demands:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may occasionally lift children who weigh approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
