Job Description:

Position Summary: The IPM Technician oversees the facility's Integrated Pest Management program to ensure safe and compliant application of state-approved pesticides, beneficial insects, and biocontrol agents. This individual is responsible for the elimination and control of pests and substances that can impact crop health and yield.
Essential Functions:

Performs a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management program for the facility using approved pesticides, beneficial insects, and biocontrol agents
Coordinates closely with Cultivation management team to adjust treatment programs to precisely target pests when they emerge; solicits feedback to align on department goals
Creates, disseminates, and tracks completion of work orders for chemical mixing and application
Ensures a safe work environment through ensuring all team members receive training on standard operating procedures and follow all PPE requirements when fulfilling work orders
Manages routine cleaning and maintenance of all equipment used for compound application
Performs routine irrigation inspection and filter replacement
Complies with PADOH spray regulations and spray logs


Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience in agriculture, plant science, pesticide management preferred
Certificate in pest management preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
Experience in Lean/Six Sigma work environment a plus; must possess a continuous process improvement mindset
Must possess written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task and manage time both independently as well as within a team environment
Must have a reliable personal vehicle
Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk as needed
Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, crouch in order to access equipment
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Close visual acuity needed for viewing screens and fine print

Workplace Environment

Consistent moderate background noise level due to HVAC and machinery
Exposure to bright light where eye protection is required
Exposure to organic nutrients and cleaning chemicals that require use of gloves
Exposure to cannabis odor
Exposure to skin contact with plants, to which some individuals may be allergic
Exposure to moderate heat and humidity in bloom rooms
