Job Description:

To verify and communicate production goals and results with management and press crews. Must ensure all materials for upcoming jobs are staged and meet the requirements of the job specification. Must follow and communicate production schedule based on PSA. Must hold prepress meetings with required personnel in a group setting at least one hour before all jobs on shift go into production. The purpose of this position is to lower down time, scrap, and increase efficiency through planning, organizing materials, and communication. This position also requires (1) Beard and hair nets are to be worn inside all production areas. (2) Walking to maintain the job. (3) Lifting up to 60 lbs 30% of time. (4) Pushing/pulling up to 500-1000 lbs with mechanical assistance. (5) Bending to maintain the job. (6) Hot and cool conditions. (7) The ability to communicate in a safe and professional manner with all Colormasters personnel. (8) Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, read and write legibly, speak clear and concise in group settings, and read a tape measure.

Quality/Decision making Authority:
Non-conform assets with-in the department that do not meet standards to safely and efficiently produce a quality product. Communicate with Supervisor and Management scheduling, material, and machine issues. Instruct and communicate with crews on production goals and results.

Major responsibilities:
To understand and follow PSA schedule for job sequence across all printing presses and communicate this sequence to the crews. Communicate any obstructions to following the set schedule to management immediately. Read and understand Colormasters printing specs. Verify all materials listed on printing spec meet the requirements of the job, enough material is available at the facility for completion of the job, and enough material is staged at the machine to get the job started and running for the first two hours minimum of production. Verify all equipment, anilox, and plates are clean, free of defects, and meet job specification requirements that will be used on the upcoming job. Conduct in person meetings (prepress meetings) with Press Operator, Press Helpers, Ink Toner, and QC as a group at least one hour before job goes into changeover communicating all aspects of the prepress checklist which is located on the Press Report form under the prepress section. Document via the Press Report that all aspects of the prepress have been completed and understood by the press crews, ink department, and QC department. Document via the Press Report if change over goal time was achieved. Any job that the change over time goal was not achieved the Prepress Coordinator must document in detail on the report the reason goal was not achieved and forward this information directly to the Director of Printing, Plant Manager, and Production Manager as well as communicate verbally with the press crew goal results once job is approved into production on every changeover. Perform spot checks on running equipment for quality issues (rolls stacking well, cores aligned, etc.) Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
