Job Description:

The Regional Sales Strategist role entails developing market-specific growth strategies to optimize the adoption of Sumitomo Rubber North America's product portfolio within designated accounts. By leveraging market insights, sales data, and customer knowledge, you will identify and present growth opportunities to SRNA management and account principals. With a deep understanding of SRNA's sales processes, products, pricing, and promotions, as well as market share and account volume potential, you will collaborate to develop and manage strategic growth plans.

Key responsibilities include establishing clear goals, tracking progress, and regularly communicating results to account principals and SRNA management through both in-person and virtual meetings. Additionally, you will conduct market evaluations for prospecting, providing data and recommendations to SRNA management for new account onboarding.

Please note that this position requires frequent travel, approximately exceeding 70%.

Essential Job Functions: 


  • Management of Account SKUs and Markets

  • Interaction with Account Managers to optimize closures

  • Analysis of SKU Adoption

  • Preparation of Account Managers for key sales initiatives

  • Communication and adoption strategies for new SKUs

  • Development of product strategies

  • Analysis of markets for existing customer expansion 

  • Market analysis for prospecting opportunities 

Minimum of 8-10 years in a corporate sales environment, including 5 years in outside sales (preferably in the automotive industry) and 3 years in a leadership/management role involving forecasting, budgeting, and goal attainment. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Management, or a related field from an accredited college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job successfully. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Proficiency in college-level mathematics with experience in calculating margins, mark-ups, and percentages as they relate to prices and sales. Strong leadership abilities with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel up to 75% via planes and automobiles. Ability to stand, sit, move, stoop, crouch, and use fingers for extended periods. Capable of hearing and talking, with the ability to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist and lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to participate in various strenuous outdoor activities and environments, including off-road desert and mountainous locations. Routine travel involving planes, cars, outdoor motorsport venues, entertainment facilities, restaurants, sports environments, and office settings.
