Operations Safety Technician at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Gainesville, Texas

Job Description:

As the Operations Safety Technician, you will interface with multi layers of the plant organization and promote positive work environment and safe behaviors. You will report to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct new Hire Training


• Conduct EHS Training, Assessments for JSA, LOTO, PPE and other safety requirements


• Safety Committees - Organize and run the committee meetings


• Support in the approval of work permits to employees and contractors


• Manage the maintenance to emergency and fire protection equipment (hoses, fire extinguishers, spill kit, etc.) and actively look for risk reduction opportunities


• Help Exceed site goal, near misses/hazard reports by administering the program.


• Help with 5S documentation and audits


• Conduct Emergency Drills


• Update Site communication boards daily / Weekly / monthly

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent


• Operations experience/ EHS experience preferred.
