Manages strategic programs and activities for the Bank's conference and event management function in support of the Bank's leadership, outreach, and engagement goals. Leads all aspects of Bank conferences and events including staff management, stakeholder relationships, contracts and policies, operational event tools, and measurement of the Bank's conference center and events of strategic importance to the organization.

Essential Accountabilities


  • Leads and continuously develops a knowledgeable, professional, engaged and customer-focused team in the delivery of outstanding conferences and programs in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh.


  • Ensures staff understands business priorities and adherence to internal policies, event expectations, responsibilities, measures of success and applicable industry and professional standards.


  • Builds productive relationships with Bank leadership to deliver strategic programs and activities for the Bank's conference center and event management function.


  • Cultivates strong, sustainable cross-functional partnerships to ensure outstanding program delivery and compliance with internal policies and procedures.


  • Leverages knowledge of the Bank's business strategies to ensure optimal program guidance for programs.


  • Leverages conference industry expertise to ensure the identification and implementation of optimal business processes, budgets, vendor contracts, industry technologies, operational policies, project operations, tracking and measurement tools to support program success.


  • Actively engages with local and national industry organizations and Federal Reserve System contacts and workgroups to monitor trends and implement best practices.


  • Collaborates on the development of marketing, service options, and pricing materials that appropriately showcase the Bank program offerings and support the Bank's external engagement strategies.


  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.


Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree (for posting: Business, Conference/Hotel/Event Management degree preferred)


  • (for posting: Professional license or Certified Meeting Planner (CMP)


  • 7 years of related professional work experience including 3+ years of supervisory responsibilities.


Knowledge and Skills


  • Ability to perform independent research.


  • Provide team leadership and cross-functional consultation and influence.


  • Knowledge of industry practices and policies to guide appropriate use of Bank resources and conference center safety standards.


  • Budgeting (including forecasting)


  • Project Planning


  • Standard office, event management and multimedia communications


  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record


  • Analytical skills


  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills


  • Problem solving and conflict resolution.


  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and projects.


Physical Demands and General Working Conditions

Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Employees may be required to travel by car/air.
