This project manager opportunity is a part of The Hub: Project and Change Success Center here at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.  The successful incumbent will leverage expert project management knowledge to manage large scale and complex projects effectively and efficiently from original concept through the project management lifecycle and final implementation.  They will also have the opportunity lead change management initiatives, as well as integrate change management concepts and practices into projects.

Essential Accountabilities


  • Leads project teams and tasks related to project deliverables including project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing.


  • Directs projects requiring cross functional integration or standalone projects.


  • Develops action plans and estimates requirements for resources; including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete the project.


  • Facilitates discussions that drive recommendation consensus within scope of responsibility.


  • Develops and helps execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope; actively manages change.


  • Engages governance groups, stakeholders and or project sponsors to influence project direction, project resource optimization and advance the outcomes of the project.


  • Collaborates with the project team and stakeholders for effective risk management and decisioning.


  • Effectively uses project management tools and resources for the planning and execution of projects.


  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.


Education and Experience

Project Manager


  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of professional work experience; 3+ years managing technical projects and schedules.


  • Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.


Project Manager Senior


  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience.


  • Advanced degree or professional certification, preferred.


  • Proven track record of successful project management.



Knowledge and Skills


  • Expert knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.


  • Knowledge of project management software a plus.


  • Problem solving skills


  • Analytical skills


  • Ability to perform independent research.


  • Communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences.


  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel projects and competing priorities.


  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex and time critical activities.


  • Ability to mentor and guide other aspiring or less experiences project managers


  • Experience with managing IT projects a plus


Physical Demands and General Working Conditions

Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Employees may be required to travel by car/air.
