We are a well-respected post-acute rehabilitation center located in the heart of Santa Cruz, California. Our facility is 5 star in quality measures and has a strong team of dedicated care givers at the facility. We are looking for a seasoned registered nurse who will oversee and supervise the care of all the residents.
Essential Duties
Overall management of the entire nursing department and staffing levels.
Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures and ensures compliance.
Responsible for ensuring resident safety and that all residents are treated with utmost respect.
Develops and conducts in-services for the clinical staff.
Responsible for the recruiting, hiring and training of nursing staff.
Coordinates pharmacy services and destruction of expired/discontinued medication.
Liaison between the facility, physicians and family members.
Works closely with all other departments to ensure excellent overall resident care.
Responsible for department budgeting and reporting.
Participates in QA, Utilization Review and Patient Care conferences.
Actively participates in and assists with all state surveys and required follow-up activity.
Coordinates MDS and care planning.
Conducts employee appraisals and resolves problems including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum requirement to perform this position include graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain all required continuing education/licensing requirements at all times.
Minimum of 7 years' nurse management experience preferred.
