The associate is the Site Sterilization Expert and will have technical responsibility for ensuring sterilized products to the market. This position is responsible for the Seaming and Thermal Process programs at the site with passion for Quality and Food Safety and for the Factory environment.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year experience in Food or Pharmaceutical manufacturing setting or 1 year experience in thermal processing.


• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Engineering.


• Experience in MS Office knowledge, specifically Excel.


• High interpersonal and communication skills (writing, speaking).

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical background in food science, chemistry, biology, engineering.


• Problem Solving, Mathematics, and Analytical Knowledge.


• 3+ Years experience in food or Pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Coordinate, execute and evaluate thermal process and sealing/seaming tests, validations and deviations to support projects and annual Q&FS verification.


• Maintain and update Thermal Process documents including Standard Operating Procedures, FDA filed Process Schedules, Heat Penetration & Temperature Distribution data/records/reports.


• Responsible for site compliance to Mars' Global Sterilization Standard, site adherence to Federal regulations codified under 21 CFR 113 for low-acid canned foods, Cooling Water Quality monitoring and verification such as chemical composition and microbiology testing programs.


• Food Safety Team Member and co-responsibility for the HACCP Plan and the pre-requisites program to ensure sterilized products in the market.


• Lead or support food safety incidents (PRIMPs) as assigned with risk assessments and recommendations to ensure sterilized products at the market; Lead or support Problem Solving projects (CAPAs) as assigned resulting from processing incidents or customer complaints related.


• Strong collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, CVS and Operations to ensure adherence to regulatory Preventive Maintenance schedule and to support projects with solid change management.


• Conduct internal audits to verify the Seaming and Thermal Process programs and drive continuous improvement.


• Coordinate and provide training to the site associates by building effective step up training for the associates responsible for Sterilization, Seaming and Quality Control of Steam and Cooling Water.


• Support all Quality & Food Safety activities as a team member including Internal Audit Program, Product Hold and Release, Food Safety Program Activities, KPIs updates, Orientation Trainings, Daily Product Evaluation and Factory Meetings (FMOS).
