If so, we invite you to become a key member of our team as a Commodity Accounting/Settlement Specialist at our Maumee, OH Corporate office.

As a Commodity Accounting/Settlement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of check transactions within our Commodity Merchandising business. You will be responsible for the daily settlement and processing of checks, reconciling accounts, and resolving any discrepancies that may arise. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work efficiently under pressure will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities



  • Check Processing: Receive and process checks accurately and efficiently for farmer payments


  • Settlement Management: Manage the settlement of checks by verifying amounts, matching against transaction records, and ensuring timely processing.


  • Reconciliation: Reconcile check transactions with internal records and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.


  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with internal teams, and external partners to address any issues or concerns related to check settlement.


  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all check transactions, settlements, and reconciliation activities.


  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing check processing and settlement.


  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls related to check settlement.

  • Has developed knowledge and skills through job related training or considerable experience

  • Often entry level for those with work experience in relevant areas

  • Works within established procedure with a moderate degree of supervision

  • Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations; assesses each using standard procedures and makes sound decisions

Minimum Qualifications & Skills


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • 1-3 years' relevant experience required
