QA Senior Advisor - Evernorth Health Services - Hybrid at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

If so, prepare to innovate, create, and inspire. The QA & Testing Advisor Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Q&A matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Provides consultation at the highest technical level to project teams and client areas assisting with the successful development and implementation of effective computer systems applications across multiple computing environments.

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for managing and coordinating testing-related activities which include conducting project kick-off meetings, requirements gathering and analysis, Test Design - Creating Test Strategy, Planning Test cycles, Data management, Defect management, and Conducting Walkthroughs with business stakeholders across the Release Train.

  • Test Management activities: Test Scenarios planning, Test Case creation, Maintaining Test Repositories, identifying automation candidates, and working with the automation team on Regression Test Suite.

  • Manage all QA Activities across multiple sprints, Project Implementation, and coordination.

  • Coordinating with external vendors for testing and implementation.

  • Understand how changes impact upstream and downstream applications, including various back end and front-end architectural modules.

  • Works with business partners and IT staff to establish and maintain a consistent testing methodology.

  • Design a comprehensive testing strategy & build test suite.

  • Design, develop, and maintain regression test beds and schedule test cycles.

  • Define test data conditions and partners and works closely with the Data team to obtain the data.

  • Identify and prepare complex test data to support the test cases defined by the team.

  • Design, develop, and code SQL programs to execute backend code tests.

  • Document User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts

  • Coordinate the Business Acceptance (BAT) and End to End (E2E) testing.

  • Responsible for functional and regression testing. Perform manual/exploratory testing where needed.

  • Responsible for documenting defects within agile for QA and Business.

  • Report progress, risks, issues, and defects to the agile/senior management team.

  • Communicates with business partners, test lead, and IT staff throughout the project life cycle, to assist and support the design, development, and implementation of effective systems and deliverables.

  • Be an active participant during PI Planning, retrospective and daily stand-up meetings, and business demonstrations.

  • Participates in the review of QA procedures and processes and the development of QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered application software or systems.

  • Analyzes failure patterns and determines preventive/corrective actions to eliminate the errors.

  • Support all post-implementation activities, such as post-implementation testing and retrospection analysis.

Qualifications


  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 15 + years of experience in Testing & Quality Assurance in Healthcare domain.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science strongly desired.

  • Testing/working experience with Healthcare IT, Finance & Accounting, Treasury, and familiarity with Healthcare IT terminology, business functions, and processes.

  • Experience in defining different test strategies across multiple applications.

  • Experience in database testing and proficiency in SQL.

  • Extensive QA / Software testing experience in large cross-platform testing programs in both UI (Front End) and database (Back End) testing.

  • Exposure to working in an Agile / Scrum environment.

  • Solid experience in business requirements analysis, test design, defect logging, and tracking.

  • Experience in all aspects of Agile - JIRA & Zephyr.

  • Experience working with business analysts, system analysts, and developers for test requirement gathering, acceptance criteria, etc.

  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments with staggered deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and documentation skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong team and task management skills.

  • Self-directed and highly adaptive to changing priorities.

  • Innovative thinking and possessing a keen eye for detail.

  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
