Data Scientist – Defense & Intelligence
On-site Location: Springfield, VA
Home office: Arlington, VA

As a Data Scientist, you will support robust and repeatable data manipulation, large scale
infrastructure for data ingestion, modeling and stunning data visualization for custom client
applications.

Essential Functions:
• Ability to work on-site for 36-40 hours during a typical week
• TS/SCI with CI-Polygraph
• Experience supporting the geospatial intelligence mission space
• At least 6 years of relevant experience*
* Relevant experience includes military service, education (Associates+), specialized training, internships,
apprenticeships, and professional civilian work experience. Credit is also provided for relevant
professional publications, presentations, and leadership roles in related organizations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Support client strategies through the creation of automated collection models, dynamic
analytic models, workflow automations, and any other automation processes and
products as assigned.
• Refine, enhance, and improve the operational performance of any automated solution
through the evaluation of performance data, regular customer interaction, and a
standardized maintenance cycle.
• Apply data science and visual programming tradecraft to support and streamline analysis
tasks as identified by stakeholders and the government.
• Enhance technical solutions to problems related to IC intelligence integration,
automated collections, tipping and cueing, information sharing, and visualization.
• Conduct extensive collections and analytic modeling, data processing, data mining, and
visualization. Conduct gap analysis on existing technologies and processes.
• Provide communication to customers on the progress for projects, processes, and
emerging technologies as they become available.
• Clearly communicate data-driven findings and automation to technical and non-
technical audiences.
• Conduct customer elicitation to identify processing problems due to procedures, tools,
and services; work arounds that may need a permanent solution; and gaps in tools and
technology.
• Train and integrate new tools, processes, and capabilities to be used in collection
orchestration.
• Provide support for emerging requirements as assigned by the government.
Desired Skills.
• Proficiency with common data science technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Git, AWS
Sagemaker, and SAS.
• Proficiency in common data science techniques or areas such as statistics (descriptive,
Bayesian), Markov-Chain modelling, TensorFlow, Linear Algebra, NLP.
• Possesses the technical skills to carry significant load on projects
• Knowledge of data and model inputs and ability to use them effectively
• Demonstrates experience (moving towards mastery) of at least one tool, platform, or
algorithm as part of a client deliverable, and works to develop experience in additional
technologies
• Able to navigate the technical collaboration environment
• Proficient in data science life cycle elements (ERI's modified CRISP-DM; Agile)
