JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: AUDITORIUM MANAGER File 520

Reports to: Building Principal

Job Objectives:

Ensure that all assigned events run smoothly and that the patrons have a safe and comfortable experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record.
  • Auditorium or related management experience

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.

  • Work closely with Student Activities Coordinator and building custodial staff.
  • Check email daily, for any changes, questions or problems that may arise.
  • Call and/or email the Activities Office if any problem arises that should inhibit the manager's ability to open or set-up the auditorium for an event.
  • Attend scheduled meetings with the Student Activities Coordinator and Head Custodian to review specific facility needs
  • Maintain a good working relationship with directors, student production crew, and other key people involved in the various events held in the auditorium.
  • Open the auditorium, set up requested items for each event prior to the event and lock the auditorium and atrium door after each event.
  • Solve problems when unexpected problems occur with lighting sound and stage set-up.
  • Upholds board policies and follows administrative procedures.
  • Promotes a favorable image of the school district.
  • Promotes the proper use and care of school property.
  • Provides for safe working conditions. Oversees the proper care and storage of production equipment. Makes minor repairs. Ensures that equipment is safe to use and available when needed.
  • Provides guidance, communicates high expectations, and shows an active interest in student progress.
  • Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code.
  • Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information..
  • Watches for student behavior that may indicate a problem (e.g., profanity, teasing, bullying, distress, etc.). Intervenes and/or reports concerns to an administrator.
  • Reports evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law.
  • Accepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct.
  • Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.
  • Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Plans work assignments for our student tech crew, provides instructions, and monitors assigned crew. Promotes teamwork and helps crew as needed to successfully accomplish delegated duties. Provides ongoing training to set lights, sound and stage prior to events held in the auditorium.

Exposure to the following situations may range from remote to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.

  • Duties may require bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and standing.
  • Duties may require lifting, carrying, and moving work-related supplies/equipment.
  • Duties may require working in proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • Duties may require performing repetitive tasks quickly and differentiating variances in intonation, pitch, rhythm, and sound.
  • Duties may require prolonged use of a computer keyboard and monitor.
  • Duties may require wearing protective clothing and using safety equipment.
  • Duties may require working extended hours.
  • Duties may require working under time constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Potential for exposure to air-borne particulates, chemical irritants, combustible materials, electrical hazards, equipment vibrations, noises, and odors.
  • Potential for exposure to blood-borne pathogens and communicable diseases.
  • Potential for interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals.
