Mechanical/Piping Superintendent

Gum Springs, AR (on client site)

The Mechanical/Piping Superintendent will report to the Construction Manager and is responsible for supporting and advising subcontractors and the construction management team on Mechanical and Piping activities related to the Gum Springs Incineration project from Owner's perspective.

The position is based in Gum Springs, Arkansas. The construction site is approximately 50 miles West of Little Rock, Arkansas. The Mechanical/Piping Superintendent will be expected to be onsite and interface with other members of the construction management team. The Mechanical/Piping Superintendent will work with the construction team to address on-going issues, approve redlines, prioritize and sequence installation activities as work fronts become available and to assist in a successful completion and startup of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review Mechanical and Piping Scope of Work packages to ensure that bidders have a complete and accurate understanding of the scope for installation and installation and erection of equipment and piping.

• Oversee the installation of mechanical equipment received on site and performed by the Mechanical contractor.

• Oversee the installation of all piping systems, heat or steam tracing as required, coatings, and insulation on piping

• Supervise all construction activities to ensure they conform to project plans and specifications.

• Managing multiple contractors and coordinating activities between the different contractors.

• Scheduling workflow and ensuring that construction milestones are met within the stipulated time frame.

• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and adherence to safety standards.

• Problem-solving on-site issues and implementing solutions in real-time.

•Communicating effectively with the construction management team, Project management, owner representatives, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to keep the project aligned with its goals.

•Maintaining detailed and accurate site reports and documentation.

•Enforcing site safety and addressing any legal, environmental, or health and safety concerns.

Professional Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering + 5 years industrial construction supervision experience is preferred but not required.

• High school diploma and 15+ years experience in the construction industry, with 3+ years working in an EPC/Owner's representative environment for large capital projects on oil/gas, chemical, or heavy industrial construction projects.

• Knowledge of construction software like Navisworks, Primavera, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace ).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work effectively with various cross functional teams.
• Knowledge and competency using construction software like Navisworks, Primavera, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace.

• Comfortable being a team player in addition to representing the client as their representative.

• Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and adept at problem-solving.

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
