Supplier Quality Engineer at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Huntsville, Alabama

Job Description:

As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing supplier quality standards, ensuring the delivery of top-notch aerospace products. Working on-site at our Huntsville, AL. facility, you will collaborate with teams and report directly to the Supplier Development & Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop an Approved Supplier List (ASL) through on-site audits and supplier qualification


• Mentor suppliers in Continuous Improvement Management principles to optimize the supply chain


• Support New Product Introduction by ensuring supplier capacity and capability


• Perform supplier assessments and production readiness assessments to find and address risks


• Conduct value stream and capacity analyses, proposing process improvements


• Lead cost reduction efforts and promote supply base consolidation


• Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects such as Kaizen events
  
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required


• Ability to travel domestically and internationally


• 5 plus years of manufacturing experience preferred


• Six Sigma yellow, green, or black belt certification preferred


• U.S. Citizen


• AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification
