The Customer Experience Software Engineer I a ssists with the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and computer systems. Works cross-functionally to understand business requirements, evaluate alternative approaches and ensure software and systems are designed to facilitate accessibility and ease of use. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality and continuous improvement.

We are a collaborative team with a culture of continuous learning and development. Software Engineers work closely with the PMO, OCM, Customer Ops, DevOps, Software and App Dev Engineers, and Vendors on project design, development, QA, implementation, and operations hand offs. Focuses heavily on design, and integration testing on our cloud-based applications.

We also work closely with our peer CX Analytics team to identify opportunities to streamline and enhance customer and customer support tools, services, and processes. Leveraging Change Management methodologies to effectively communicate and create awareness of CX driven change initiatives with our service/tool customers and stakeholders.

What you will do to contribute to the company's success


  • Leverages Software Engineering concepts, practices and methodologies to:

  • Perform standard Software Engineering duties, including:

    • Identifying and automating manual tasks,

    • Converting legacy code to new code,

    • Creating detailed plans for migrating legacy tools and systems to new / unified systems and language,

    • Identifying network, server or software bottlenecks,

    • Ensuring application of secure coding practices,

    • Performance testing and identifying / resolving discovered issues.



  • Assists with writing unit and system tests to provide coverage for common code paths.

  • Applies industry and company Software Engineering standards, policies and guidelines.

  • Designs pragmatic solutions with product managers and stakeholders.

  • Refactors legacy code into modern application patterns.

  • Tests unit and integration for new platform services and features.

  • Evaluates system design/architecture for cost, efficiency, and customer (subscriber & frontline associate) utilization.

  • Assists with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Progressive experience in software development, managing software applications required.

  • Experience managing applications using Oracle, Java/.NET.

  • Experience in managing large-scale software release deployments and upgrades preferred.

  • Understanding of software development and deployment processes: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and troubleshooting required.

  • Passion for learning and mentoring.

  • Passion for troubleshooting problems and determining root-cause.

  • Comfortable working in an agile/scrum environment.

  • Comfortable working with remote team members.

  • Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure.
