Join the Mizuho team as a Senior Cloud Architect!

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect with a specialization in Microsoft Azure to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azure cloud computing, architecture design, and implementation strategies. As a cloud expert, they will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions on Azure. Additionally, they will act as a manager for a small team of cloud professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of robust Azure cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.


• Support and oversee the migration of existing applications and infrastructure to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.


• Develop design patterns and reference architectures to mature cloud offerings and guide consumers in implementing optimized and compliant solutions.


• Ensure Azure cloud solutions meet stringent security and compliance requirements, implementing best practices for data protection and risk management.


• Establish and enforce Azure governance policies and practices, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, cost management, and resource optimization.


• Provide technical leadership to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.


• Collaborate daily with partner teams such as Cloud Engineering, Data, Security, AppDev, AI, and Enterprise Architecture to understand business needs and deliver solutions that meet enterprise standards and expectations.


• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, evaluating and recommending new approaches to enhance our cloud offerings and landscape.
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.


• 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and design on Microsoft Azure utilizing various IaaS and PaaS offerings.


• 5+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years of experience in technical architecture.


• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable, secure, performant, and resilient Azure cloud architectures, inclusive of cloud migrations.


• Strong understanding of Azure security and governance principles and best practices.


• Strong knowledge of common architecture principles, patterns and practices, such as SOA, microservices, RESTful APIs, MVC, etc.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Previous experience managing or leading technical teams.


• Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.

The expected base salary ranges from $160k-$215k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
