What You Will Contribute:




The Machinist II is responsible for machining parts determined from a schedule and will also be responsible for daily total productive maintenance (TPM) on machines along with 5S work. This position will also be responsible for recording measurement data, reading blueprints and will work closely Manufacturing Engineering for technical support.



Job Duties:



  • Operate and maintain CNC equipment, VMC (vertical machining center), HMC (Horizontal machining center), and TC (turning center) equipment.


  • Operate overhead cranes, adjust equipment as needed, and debur products.


  • Load and unload parts from machining centers.


  • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.


  • Take precise measurements using gauging to verify dimensional accuracy and document in the inspection log.


  • Update inventory of completed products using production reporting software.


  • Check output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.


  • Perform daily total production maintenance to ensure fluid levels meet requirements.


  • Change and monitor tooling and set-up fixturing for job change over.


  • Maintain a safe and clean workstation by following daily 5S routine.





Education and Experience:



  • High School Degree/GED required


  • 3+ years of related experience setting up and running mills and lathes preferred





Qualifications:



  • Basic knowledge of machine programming required


  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and data entry required


  • Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training required


  • Basic ability to read blueprints required


  • Basic skills in math required


  • Basic ability to read, write, and speak required

Working Conditions:



  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.


  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.





Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.


  • Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.


  • Must be able to pass an audiogram test.
