Department Information

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health, Bloomington runs an undergraduate degree, a master's program, 2 PhD programs and houses the Biostatistics Consulting Center, which supports study design and data analysis for research.

Job Summary

This is a flexible role that will take on project tasks as needed to meet department deadlines.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Leads social media, website, newsletter, and other marketing efforts.

  • Manages all campus visits for speakers and candidate recruitments.

  • Ensures visa applications for faculty and visiting scholars are processed in a timely manner.

  • Creates all hiring documents for the department and manage the onboarding process.

  • Submits any purchasing, travel, or other fiscal and HR documents as necessary.

  • Provides administrative planning and support to the RUSIS grant.

General Responsibilities

  • Manages a small project, from start to finish, or 1 phase of a large project, ensuring on time completion within budget.

  • Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls.

  • Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management.

  • Coordinates and communicates between various areas; conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports.

  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames.

  • May provide guidance and support to non-exempt staff.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field



  • Some relevant experience

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
