Job Description

• Perform and support biologics antigen purification processes to support mono- and multivalent vaccine and recombinant microbial protein/peptide biopharma development.


• Isolate/purify/concentrate recombinant and wildtype bacterial and viral products for use as vaccine and biopharma candidates.


• Run basic in-process analytical methods, which may include microbial and/or viral titration, turbidity, HPLC, gel electrophoresis, and total protein analysis.


• Work closely with Upstream Scientists to align upstream and downstream activities


• Assist senior members of the DSP team with large-scale preps and routine processing.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in disciplines ofchemistry, biochemistry, or other related fields.
  
  
  • BS + 3-5 years of experience, or: MS + 1-3 years of experience
  
  
  
  


• Laboratory experience with:
  
  
  • Protein and Antigen purification methodologies including
    
    
    • isolation (homogenization, cell lysis, centrifugation)
    
    
    • separation/concentration (cross-flow filtration, depth filtration, precipitation)
    
    
    • purification (chromatography)
    
    
    
    
  
  
  • Demonstrated Aseptic Technique
  
  
  • In-process analytical technologies
  
  
  • Knowledge or experience with corresponding upstream bioreactor workstreams and outputs a plus
  
  
  
  

• Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, first shift 8AM-5PM. Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Kalamazoo, MI are encouraged to apply.
