The Staff Analyst will work with a multi-disciplinary team of other analysts and clinical staff in performing reviews of Medicaid provider claims and payments, to design and calculate updates to hospital, physician and other reimbursement systems, based on Medicaid policies and other applicable law. The Staff Analyst will prepare written documents supporting professional decisions and will perform other types of reviews involving health care provider reimbursement.
Essential Functions:
Conduct research in order to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with relevant Medicaid or other government program regulations
Payment methodology design and rate development for hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers
Utilizing SQL, Alteryx, or other programs, perform analytical reviews on large data sets and make recommendations based on results
Prepare and distribute reports/analyses
Review applicable Federal and State policies and regulations and apply to reports and analysis
Participate in analysis of client-identified issues or problems
Demonstrate excellence in communication skills, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and process improvement
Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information when analyzing material
Maintain thorough electronic documentation

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, health policy, health informatics, data analytics, business intelligence/analysis, statistics or related field required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs (10% or less)
Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel, for data analysis purposes and reporting
Familiarity with SSMS (SQL), Alteryx, and/or PowerBI for large datasets
Experience with health care auditing and data analysis a plus
Ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements
The Team: Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the employee will report to one of our Managers or Senior Managers on the Rate Setting/Federal Compliance engagement team.
Work Style: Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. Dependent on performance, our in-office associates are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after their initial 90-day training period. As a company, we are always willing to discuss potential flexibility that an employee may need to better suit their work-life wellbeing.
