BOOST is helping our client; D&G Support Services hire an exceptional senior level Director Business Development and Capture. The Director, Business Development and Capture is a player-coach role in which the Director, Business Development and Capture is responsible for executing D&Gs growth strategy from opportunity identification through proposal submission. Reporting directly to the CEO, the individual both executes capture and supervises junior BD and capture personnel in the execution of their duties. The individual is responsible for; customer account knowledge; pipeline generation, assessment, and reporting; and opportunity capture in accordance with company objectives, goals and established governance processes. He/she develops and implements the capture plan and orchestrates and manages all capture activities. The individual defines opportunity resource requirements and costs associated with capture and proposals and identifies and trains capture team members to ensure necessary support elements are available. Interacts with broad range of internal departments (i.e., Proposal Management, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Contracts, etc.) to develop technical, managerial and pricing strategies.

The successful candidate will demonstrate competent and confident leadership, excellent critical thinking, problem solving, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to develop teams and construct near-term and long-range strategies for growth.

The primary responsibilities of the individual selected for this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:


  • Supervise the Business Development team
  • Collect, analyze and report Business Development metrics and KPIs and recommend strategies to improve performance
  • Develop, manage and oversee the Business Development and capture budget
  • Lead the pursuit team to fully qualify the opportunity, confirm that the win is achievable, and increase the probability of winning throughout the capture process.
  • Lead the development of the win strategy, and identify critical activities (PTW, solutioning, gap analysis, etc.) and resources needed to increase the win probability.
  • Develop the Capture Plan and identify the capture team and proposal team members in coordination with company leadership
  • Adhere to D&G Business Development Lifecycle Process and Procedures Maintain opportunity-specific data in the company CRM database
  • Support the Proposal Manager and Proposal team, as required, including contributing to proposal reviews, proposal writing when required, and providing overall guidance to the tea m

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • 8+ years of GOVCON capture management experience with a strong win percentage
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with experience presenting at the executive levels
  • Proven ability to establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders
  • Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
  • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behavior in the market
  • Knowledge of GOVCON industry best practices, metrics, KPIs and improvement strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GOVCON advisory and assistance, supply chain and/or critical infrastructure professional services
  • USCG, CISA, DLA, USTRANSCOM CWMD experience

CLEARANCE


  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

TRAVEL

  • Up to 20% travel. Must be able to attend events in the DC area approximately 4 times a year.
