Duties & Responsibilities
The Arthur Rock Center for Entrepreneurship supports Harvard Business School's mission to "educate leaders who make a difference in the world" by infusing this leadership perspective with an entrepreneurial point of view. The Center was founded in 2003 with the support of a generous donation from pioneering venture capitalist Arthur Rock (MBA '51). The Rock Center provides entrepreneurial students and alumni with the inspiration, skills, tools, and support needed to create ventures with substantial impact.
The Manager supports the core activities of the Rock Center's alumni and practitioner-based programming, encompassing efforts related to the Rock 100 programming, the Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, the New York Startup Studio, and more. The position reports to the Director. The major areas of responsibility include:
Project management of Rock 100 Summit, Roundtables, and peer exchange groups including managing event planning and logistics, research and development of the invitation list, faculty engagement, pre- and post-event outreach and communications with alumni, and tracking program metrics.
Manages and executes the Entrepreneur-in-Residence program including EiR orientation, EiR prep on EiR hour days, scheduling management, evaluation and feedback. Coordinate faculty meet-and-greets with EiRs, EiR Kickoff dinner, and end-of-year dinner.
Manages digital and print communications for alumni programs. Coordinates with Alumni Relations team on communications plan and execution. Coordinates with HBS M&C to create marketing materials. Assist in the development and execution of e-newsletters.
Coordinating event planning logistics, including room scheduling, catering, marketing, and vendor management for meetings, conferences, research forums, advisory board meetings, workshops, and student events.
Work with Rock Digital Media Manager to support areas of the Rock Center website focused on alumni programming. Monitors several news sources to identify relevant content for website.
Develops Rock Center Global Insights report on HBS entrepreneurship around the world, including measurement of key metrics and trends. Identify key alumni global entrepreneurship stakeholders and areas of opportunity for HBS.
Enhances and helps maintain the Rock database with alumni and company information, including importing and exporting data, updating records, running reports, and coordinating with other offices to maintain data integrity. Updates lists of entrepreneurship-related publications, curriculum elements, etc.
BA/BS and 5+ years related project-management and administrative experience required.
