Our Housekeeping Department plays an essential role in the success of our AAA Five Diamond resort. We are currently searching for committed, hard-working, and guest service oriented individuals who enjoy the physical aspects of working as a House Attendant. The House Attendant's role is to support the Room Attendants by delivering linen and supplies to the guest floors. In addition, the House Attendant supports the Housekeeping team by maintaining cleanliness throughout the property. Our chosen Ambassador must possess the ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular and continual basis. They must also be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds on a regular and continual basis. The selected candidates should possess excellent communication skills due to the communication between Ambassadors and guests. Due to the nature of our business, candidates must have flexibility of schedule including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Our AM shift typically runs from 7am-4pm. Our PM shift typically runs from 3pm-12Midnight. Prior hospitality experience, ideally within a cleaning or housekeeping role, strongly preferred, but not required. POSITION PURPOSE Support and service the Room Attendants and maintain cleanliness throughout the hotel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AVERAGE % OF TIME 40 % Sweep and wash floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures and clean ashtrays. 30 % Remove trash from work areas to the loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from cleaning carts. Clean escalators and elevator car and tracks. 20 % Deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms and deliver linen and supplies to guest floors. Make up and deliver roll-a-way beds. 10 % Move furniture, supplies, and equipment. Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel facilities. Physical Demands • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education High school or equivalent education preferred. Experience Prior hospitality experience desired. Licenses or Certificates Not Applicable.
